Unity Cup for FON: Abakpa Ward Edges New Layout 1–0 in Tense Encounter

Abakpa Ward of the Ebonyi North East Constituency secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over New Layout in a tense third place playoff of the Ada Eji Eje Mba Unity Cup for FON 2025.

The match, held at Nnodo Boys Secondary School Field in Abakaliki, kicked off at 2:18 pm, with Abakpa taking the lead in the 7th minute that they maintained till the final whistle.

The early goal proved decisive, as Abakpa held firm with disciplined defending and tactical composure to earn all three points and claim third place in the tournament. Up next in the competition is the much anticipated final showdown between Kpiri-kpiri Ward and Echiaba, set to take place at the same venue.
