Ebonyi First Lady Builds Bungalow for Widow in Amegu Onicha

The people of Amegu Onicha community in Ebonyi State were filled with joy and gratitude on Sunday as the First Lady and wife of the Executive Governor, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Mary-maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, commissioned a bungalow she built for a widow, Mrs. Ophoke Ogbuinya.
The project, executed through her pet initiative — Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Foundation (BERWO) — reflects Her Excellency’s commitment to supporting widows, children, and other vulnerable groups across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area, Chief Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba, praised the First Lady’s benevolence, describing the gesture as a source of hope and comfort for the widow and her family. He pledged the continued prayers and support of the council area for the Governor, his wife, and the state government.
The event reaffirmed Her Excellency’s reputation as a beacon of compassion and a role model in service to humanity.
