Ibaki’s Family Hosts Reception for DG Rural Roads, Inaugurates CIL for FON
In a bid to promote good governance and mobilize support for the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru, a political support group, Chief Ibaki Likemind for FON (CIL for FON), led by Engr. Chief Jonas Ogbonna Ibaki, has inaugurated its national and state executive members to pilot the affairs of the organization ahead of the next general election.
Performing the inauguration, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area, Hon. Odilichukwu Okeye, commended the founder for his commitment and urged the new executives to remain focused on advancing the vision and objectives of the movement for the progress of the state.
Hon. Okeye further appreciated Ipfuigwe Autonomous Community and Chief Ibaki Nweli Ereke Alo's family for organizing a grand reception in honor of their son, the Director General of Ebonyi State Rural Access Road Authority, Engr. Obinna Emmanuel Ibaki.
He advised the support group to ensure Izzi LGA maintain their place as the highest votes cast winner in Ebonyi in the next general election while encouraging citizens to register and participate actively in the electoral process.
Speaking at the event, the State Commissioner for Solid Mineral and Natural Resources, Hon. Chidiebere Onyia, described the governor's appointee as a childhood friend with admirable antecedents.
He stressed that the ongoing administration is focused on empowering the youth to leave lasting legacies.
He pledged his continued support to the APC-led government under Governor Nwifuru, noting that peace remains the foundation of both human and infrastructural development.
In his remarks, Engr. Obinna Ibaki expressed deep appreciation to Chief Ibaki Nweli Ereke Alo's dynasty for hosting the reception in his honor and that of his principal, Governor Nwifuru.
"The ongoing administration is one that focuses on peace building and growth devoid of violence and disorderliness. My principal has done so much for us: building a bungalow at the Community Primary School, Ojiegbe, reclaiming our schools formerly managed by Cross River State, providing teachers, the electing of our daughter as the Vice Chairman of Izzi LGA, and currently attending to our Nwakpu road, among others. All we owe him is our support and promotion of peace,” he stated.
The host, and the national president of CIL for FON, Engr. Jonas Ogbonna Ibaki commended Governor Nwifuru for his infrastructural and human empowerment strides across the state.
He assured the governor of their continuous support to ensure the successful completion of his second term bid.
Chief Ibaki also highlighted the antecedents of Engr. Obinna Ibaki, recalling his service in the administration of former governor and now Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, as Special Assistant before being elevated to Director General by Governor Nwifuru.
He explained that the reception was a way of thanking God and the people for their steadfast support to the governor.
Other dignitaries, including Board Members of the prestigious, Rural Access Road Authority,Chief Michael Udenwe, Barr. Hyacinth Uguru, Engr. Okoronkwo Oko-Enyia, and Barr. Anthony Egede of INEC, congratulated Engr. Ibaki for the elevated position.
They also lauded the community for their impressive support to the governor and urged them to remain steadfast for the continued growth of the state.
Highlights of the event included the official blessing of Engr. Obinna by Ibaki Nweli Ereke Alo's family, the inauguration of CIL for FON executives, traditional dance displays, and other cultural performances.
