Kuwait Interior Ministry Denies Reports on Amendments to Dependent Residency Rules
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has dismissed as false recent reports suggesting amendments to the residency status of violators under Article 22, which governs dependent residency.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry clarified that it has not released any decision or circular permitting violators on dependent visas to regularize their status. It described the circulating claims, spread across social media platforms and some media outlets, as both “misleading” and “unfounded.”
The Ministry further stressed that any official directives, policy changes, or circulars concerning residency regulations will only be announced through its verified official channels. Citizens and residents were therefore urged to exercise caution, verify information before sharing, and rely solely on statements issued directly by the Ministry of Interior.
