Sports Commissioner, Idike Enhances Staff Welfare, Revamps Stadium Entrance

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Richard Ugo Idike, has continued his efforts to enhance staff welfare with the provision of a new convenience facility for workers of the ministry and the rehabilitation of the entrance gate at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.
Speaking at the ministry’s headquarters in Block 9, Centenary City, Abakaliki, Hon. Idike said the interventions were in line with the People’s Charter of Needs agenda of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration, aimed at ensuring a conducive work environment for public servants.
“We must ensure a decent working environment for our personnel,” the commissioner stated. “Provision of water and basic facilities will help keep the premises clean, functional, and comfortable for all staff.”
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Comrade Obiesie Ogbonna Hilary, expressed gratitude to the commissioner for his proactive leadership, urging staff to make good use of the facilities and ensure their maintenance. Similarly, the Director of Youth Development, Mr. Lawrence Oji, appreciated Hon. Idike for his prompt response to the needs of the staff, noting that the provision of water supply would enhance the hygiene and productivity of the workforce.
Some members of staff, including Mrs. Gloria, Mrs. Augustina, and Mrs. Ngozika, also thanked the commissioner for his swift intervention, describing him as a responsive leader who listens to his team. They offered prayers for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon his administration. In her vote of thanks, the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Blessing Igidi, commended Hon. Idike for prioritizing staff welfare and pledged the ministry’s commitment to implementing his policies effectively. She assured that the staff would safeguard the new facilities and work collectively to achieve the goals of the ministry.
