Ebonyi Senator Seeks Justice For Slain FGC Student

The Senator representing, Ebonyi South Senatorial district, Senator Professor Anthony Okorie Ani has drawn the attention of his colleagues to the gruesome killing of Master Chukwuebuka Chukwu, a student of Federal Government College (FGC), Okposi.
The Senator while presenting the petition from the bereaved family at the Hallowed Chamber on Wednesday 23rd October, 2025 appealed that the circumstances surrounding the death of the youngster should be unveiled.
It was gathered that the deceased was among the children instructed by a housemaster whose name was not given at Federal Government College (FGC), Okposi Ohaozara in Ebonyi State on 27th July, 2025 to chase some outgoing SS3 students that violated the school rules by jumping through the fence.
Unfortunately, the lifeless body of Master Chukwu was later found inside a stream that situates beside the school premises by a search party and following the suspicious nature of the incident, an autopsy was conducted at David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH), Uburu that proved that the boy was killed against the statement of the college claiming that it was the case of drowning.
“I have a petition coming from one of the communities in my zone, Okposi Okwu Development Union being one of the decent and law abiding communities in this nation.
“The petition is on the cruel murder of one of their children, Master Chukwuebuka Chukwu at FGC, Okposi, they are looking for justice over the death of this youngster that died under a controversial circumstance” he said.
However, the senate referred the petition to its Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petition that would look into the matter and provide a report after four weeks.
