Divine Igwe Impact Foundation Launches in Ebonyi, Sets Agenda for Health, Education, Others

A non-governmental organization, Dr. Divine Igwe Impact Foundation, has been formally inaugurated in Ebonyi State with a mission to transform lives and strengthen communities through improved healthcare access, educational support, and economic empowerment initiatives.
The Foundation was unveiled during a well-attended ceremony at Community Primary School, Okposhi Umuoghara, in Ezza North Local Government Area, drawing community leaders, government officials, and beneficiaries. In his address, Founder Dr. Divine Okemefuna Igwe outlined his vision of a society where every individual regardless of background can access quality healthcare, education, and opportunities for growth.
He described the launch as a movement for sustainable change, empowerment, and hope, stressing the Foundation’s commitment to touching lives across Ebonyi State and beyond. Dr. Igwe further disclosed that the Foundation would drive agricultural initiatives, advocate for equity and inclusion, and champion sustainable development.
He highlighted its ongoing interventions, including basic educational support for 18 students, housing assistance for indigent families running into millions of naira, enrollment of over 5,000 children into the state health insurance scheme, and registration of 1,000 pregnant women to ensure safe maternal and newborn care. He announced that the Foundation’s programs would support 13 students from Ezza North, aimed at broadening access to education.
In the area of youth and sports development, he revealed that a football tournament would soon be staged across the 11 wards of Ezza North, with investments exceeding ₦5 million to promote talent development, unity, and youth engagement. The Founder appealed for broad-based collaboration to sustain the Foundation’s vision. “No foundation, regardless of its fervor, can achieve its mission in isolation. Sustainable impact necessitates partnership—from government, private organizations, international agencies, and individuals with a heart for service,” he emphasized.
Chairman of the ceremony and Ebonyi State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Oguzor Offia Nwali, commended Dr. Igwe’s commitment to humanity and urged well-meaning individuals to support the initiative.
The National President of the Foundation, Dr. Ibiam Azu, reaffirmed that the organization would continue to intervene in healthcare, education, agriculture, sports, and economic empowerment. Also speaking, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Samson Nwafor, praised the founder for the noble initiative and prayed for divine blessings on his efforts to uplift youths. Dignitaries present at the event included the Chairman of Ezza North LGA, Mr. Moses Ogodoali Nome, and the State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Victor Uzoma Nwite, among others, all of whom supported the Foundation in cash and kind.
