IFA Warns Against Use of Substandard Football Fields for Competitions

The Izzi Football Association (IFA) has cautioned football team leaders in the three Local Government Area participating in annual football game against the use of substandard football fields and goalposts for competitions.
In a statement issued by the President of the Association,His Royal Highness Eze Boniface Ezeagu reiterated that only football pitches and goalposts that meet its approved standards would be permitted for official matches.
According to the statement, teams are required to schedule a verification visit by IFA officials to inspect and confirm the suitability of their football pitches before the commencement of any competition. Eze Ezeagu emphasized that no match would be allowed to take place on a pitch that fails to meet the required standards, warning that any team that presents a substandard field risks forfeiting both the match and the points obtainable from it.
"Additionally, such teams may face further disciplinary actions, including fines as prescribed by the Association’s regulations".he said The statement concluded with a strong appeal to all clubs and tournament organizers to adhere strictly to the directive, noting that the policy is aimed at maintaining professionalism, safety, and the integrity of the game in the state.
