IFA 2025/26: Igbeagu DC Defeats Enyida DC 1–0 in Thrilling Encounter

Igbeagu Development Centre (DC) on Sunday secured a narrow but decisive 1–0 victory over Enyida DC in a tightly contested football match that kept spectators on edge from start to finish.

The lone goal of the match came from jersey-16, Nkwuda Izuchukwu, whose brilliant strike proved enough to separate both sides and hand Igbeagu DC the win.

Speaking after the match, the Principal of Special Science School, Igbeagu, and consultant, All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS),Mr. Nwoba Christopher Idoko, commended both teams for their sportsmanship, resilience, and competitive spirit. He equally applauded the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for using sports as a tool to foster unity and strengthen bonds among the Izhi people.

Mr. Idoko described the match as a testament to the governor’s commitment to peace, youth development, and community cohesion, noting that football continues to serve as a unifying force across the state. The school principal, appealed to Izzi Football Association, IFA to make a good selection to ensure that players who performed excellently in the competition are supported to join the state football team while tasking management to thoroughly supervise field before commencement of every match. The match drew football lovers, community leaders, and youth groups, all of whom celebrated the display of talent and the spirit of togetherness exhibited throughout the encounter.
