Nigerian Scholar, Peter Agu, Wins Southwest University’s 2025 Excellence Award

, A Nigerian and Izhi-born researcher, Mr. Peter Agu, has been honoured with the prestigious 2025 Excellence Award of Southwest University, Chongqing, China.

He received the award under the category of Academic and Advanced Research Excellence, marking one of the institution’s highest recognitions for scholarly contribution. The award was presented after a rigorous evaluation process conducted across the university’s various colleges, aimed at identifying outstanding individuals whose work significantly advanced knowledge and research in 2025, whence, Mr. Peter emerged among the top performers whose research output made remarkable impact within the academic community.

In his remarks, Mr. Peter expressed profound gratitude to the International College, the College of Pharmaceutical Science, and the leadership of Southwest University for acknowledging his efforts. He noted that the recognition stands as strong motivation to continue contributing meaningfully to science and humanity. According to him, receiving the university-wide excellence award is both an honour and a call to deepen his commitment to high-quality research.
