Nwifuru’s Second Term Sacrosanct — Umahi Assures Izzi Youths
The former Governor of Ebonyi State and Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, has assured members of the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum that the second-term ambition of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru remains sacrosanct.
Engr. Umahi gave the assurance during a Christmas courtesy visit by members of the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum, led by its National President, Dr. Chibueze Elom, to his country home in Umunaga, Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The visit was aimed at celebrating the Yuletide season with the former governor and appreciating him for the enduring legacies recorded during his tenure as Governor of Ebonyi State.
Speaking on behalf of the forum, the National President, Comrade Chibueze Elom, alongside the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Comrade Ben Nwovu, commended Engr. Umahi for his uncommon love and unwavering support for the Izzi people, particularly during the critical period when the agitation for equity in the zoning of the governorship position was most intense.
The youth leaders acknowledged that through hard work, vision, and a strong passion for development, Engr. Umahi transformed Ebonyi State, earning it global recognition as one of the fastest-developing states in the South-East and Nigeria at large.
They further assured the former governor of their continued loyalty and alignment, while appealing to him to consider members of the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum in his ministerial projects, contracts, and empowerment initiatives.
In his response, Engr. Umahi expressed deep appreciation to the Izzi people for their consistent show of respect and love, pledging to sustain the cordial relationship between himself and the clan, which he described as strengthened by blood ties, being an in-law to the Izzi people.
The former governor also used the occasion to call for unflinching support for Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that their leadership holds great promise for the nation. He described the second-term agenda of both Governor Nwifuru and President Tinubu as sacrosanct, adding that President Tinubu has made significant strides in the development of Ebonyi State and the South-East region.
Engr. Umahi further noted that agitations for self-actualization in Nigeria are unnecessary, emphasizing that the current administration is implementing numerous life-impacting projects that benefit the Igbo people and other regions across the country.
