APC South East Congress: Ogah Hails Peaceful Exercise, Backs Nwifuru’s Leadership
The Member representing Ikwo/Ezza-South Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, has commended the successful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South East Zonal Congress held in Enugu.
The congress, which took place at Hotel Presidential, Enugu, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, witnessed a massive turnout of party faithful, delegates, and stakeholders from across the South East zone.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise, Ogah expressed satisfaction with the organization of the event, describing the congress as peaceful, transparent, and a clear demonstration of unity among members of the party in the region.
He noted that the success of the zonal congress reflects the growing strength and acceptance of the APC in the South East, stressing that the peaceful atmosphere that characterized the exercise shows that the party is becoming more united and better organized.
Ogah also reaffirmed his strong support and solidarity with the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, commending his leadership style and political inclusiveness.
He particularly applauded the governor’s role in facilitating the emergence of Hon. Innocent Itapa Azuobu as the APC South East Zonal Secretary, describing the development as a positive step toward strengthening the party’s structure in the zone.
The federal lawmaker expressed confidence that under the leadership of Governor Nwifuru and other party leaders, the APC will continue to wax stronger in the South East and remain well-positioned for future political victories.
The zonal congress attracted several high-profile stakeholders, including the Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma; the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah; and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu.
Also in attendance were the Member representing Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Iduma Igariwey Enwo; the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa; former ministers, party leaders, and other key stakeholders, underscoring the importance of the convention to the party’s leadership in the South East.
