Ebonyi APC Re-elects Emegha-Led Exco For Another Four-Year Term
The Ebonyi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday successfully conducted its State Congress, electing a new leadership to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years.
The congress, held at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki, witnessed a large turnout of party faithful, stakeholders and government officials, in what many described as a peaceful and rancour-free exercise.
Speaking at the event, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru attributed the success of the congress to the peaceful disposition and leadership of Nigeria’s President and National Leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I thank our father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for making this tremendous sacrifice,” the governor said, noting that the President’s leadership ensured that the exercise was not marred by rage, rancour or political resentment.
According to him, “It is through him that we are enjoying peace and stability today. Without him, this event would not have been possible.”
Governor Nwifuru further explained that party stakeholders in the state unanimously adopted consensus candidates as a strategy to eliminate internal disputes and strengthen party unity.
“I commend the leaders of the party for accepting our decision to go by consensus candidates. They have made sacrifices, and God will give them what is greater than party executive positions,” he stated.
Reacting, the re-elected Chairman of the APC in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, appreciated party stakeholders and supporters for rallying around his executive, which he said contributed to their peaceful re-election.
Emegha assured members of the party of continued commitment and dedicated service aimed at strengthening the APC and supporting the ongoing administration in the state for greater development.
