Abakaliki FC Feeder Demand Fair Hearing As NLO Fines Team

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Abakaliki FC Feeder Team has appealed to the Disciplinary Committee of the Nationwide League One, NLO, over sanctions imposed on the club following its match against Jaguar FC played on May 5, 2026, at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.
‎ ‎The Team Manager of Abakaliki FC Feeder Team, Mba Uko in a letter addressed to the NLO Disciplinary Committee, the management of the team appealed for leniency after the club was fined five hundred thousand naira, deducted three points, while three points were awarded to Jaguar FC. ‎ ‎The team management maintained that the protest recorded during the match was carried out by unidentified fans who were allegedly reacting to the referee’s failure to award penalties to Abakaliki FC Feeder Team after fouls committed inside the eighteen-yard box by Jaguar FC.
‎ ‎According to the letter, the fans, who were said not to belong to either supporters’ group, demanded justice following the referee’s decisions during the encounter. ‎ ‎The management further argued that the absence of adequate security at the stadium contributed to the incident, stressing that the host team was expected to provide security in line with NLO regulations. ‎ ‎Abakaliki FC Feeder Team also claimed that no official of the club was invited for fair hearing before the disciplinary verdict was delivered. ‎ ‎The club therefore appealed to the committee to reverse the points deduction, review the sanctions imposed on the team, and investigate the circumstances surrounding the disputed penalty incidents in the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship. Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Richard Idike explained that efforts are on ground to ensure justice is obtained.
