Tinubu Records Landslide Victory in Ebonyi, Polls 207,579 Votes
President Bola Tinubu has secured a sweeping victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in Ebonyi State, polling 207,579 votes to defeat his lone challenger, Stanley Osifo, who scored zero votes.
The result was announced on Saturday at the APC Secretariat in Abakaliki by the Ebonyi State Governor and Returning Officer, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Declaring the outcome of the exercise, Governor Nwifuru said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu overwhelmingly won the primary election conducted across the state.
According to him, Tinubu polled a total of 207,579 votes, while his opponent, Stanley Osifo, failed to secure any vote.
The governor described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and successful, commending party members for their orderly conduct throughout the process.
“This peaceful primary election demonstrates the unity and strength of our great party in Ebonyi State.
"Our members came out en masse to reaffirm their confidence in President Bola Tinubu,” Nwifuru stated.
He further applauded APC stakeholders, electoral officials and security agencies for ensuring a hitch-free exercise across the 13 local government areas of the state.
The APC primary in Ebonyi witnessed massive participation by party faithful, with delegates and members expressing support for the re-election bid of President Tinubu ahead of the next general election.
Meanwhile, Aljazirah correspondent who monitored the exercise at Enyanwuigwe Agbaja collation center in an interview with the Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State governor on street light, Mr Sylvester Nwamini, and Ebyia Development center Coordinator, Mr Iboko Stephen described APC as Ebonyi party saying that the mammoth crowd was a testament of the friendly policies of the All Progressives Congress governor of the state.
