2027: Senator ‎Nwebonyi Secures Royal Blessings, Massive Youth Endorsement

‎ ‎ ‎The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, on Monday received royal blessings from the sixteen traditional rulers of Ohaukwu Local Government Area alongside overwhelming endorsements from youths across Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone ahead of the 2027 general elections.
‎ ‎According to a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief Whip on Media and Publicity, Romanus Ozioko, the traditional rulers, led by the Chairman of the Ohaukwu Traditional Rulers Council, HRH Eze John Oge, commended Senator Nwebonyi for what they described as purposeful leadership and quality representation. ‎ ‎The royal fathers assured the senator of the unwavering support of the traditional institution, expressing confidence in his leadership and political future. ‎
‎Speaking during the event, the Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Hon. Ikechukwu Odono; the Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Onah; the Commissioner for Capital City Development, Hon. Sunday Inyima; and former Ohaukwu LGA Chairman, Princess Chinyere Elom, praised Senator Nwebonyi’s achievements and performance in office. ‎ ‎The political leaders also endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Senator Nwebonyi and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a second term in office. ‎
‎In a related development, APC youth leaders and village youth presidents from the four local government areas in Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone gathered at the Abakaliki Local Government Headquarters, Nkaliki, where they reaffirmed their commitment to Senator Nwebonyi’s re-election bid and the success of APC candidates in the 2027 polls. ‎ ‎A motion for a vote of confidence on President Tinubu, Governor Nwifuru, Senator Nwebonyi and all APC candidates was moved by the APC Zonal Youth Leader for Ebonyi North, Collins Idenyi, and seconded by the APC Youth Leader of Ohaukwu LGA, Ogbu Agena. ‎ ‎Responding, Senator Nwebonyi assured the traditional rulers of his continued support for legislation aimed at granting statutory roles to traditional institutions, noting that he had already attracted several constituency projects to the zone. ‎ ‎The senator also promised to triple his achievements if re-elected for a second term. ‎ ‎Addressing the youths, Nwebonyi appreciated their massive turnout and pledged to empower young people through start-up support programmes and the donation of tractors to commercial farmers across the zone. ‎ ‎He urged the electorate to support and re-elect President Tinubu, Governor Nwifuru, himself and all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections. ‎ ‎Participants at the gathering described the endorsements as a reflection of Senator Nwebonyi’s growing popularity and acceptance across Ebonyi North as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections gather momentum.
