Just In: 2027: APC Nat'l Chairman Signals Continuity in Ebonyi, Declares ‘No Vacancy’

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that there is “no vacancy” in the Ebonyi State Government House ahead of the 2027 governorship election, expressing confidence in the continued dominance of the ruling party in the state.
‎ ‎Yilwatda made the declaration on Monday while addressing party supporters during a mega rally held in Abakaliki to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
‎ ‎The APC national chairman described the party as firmly rooted in Ebonyi State and dismissed speculations that President Tinubu was backing any opposition candidate against the APC in the forthcoming elections. ‎ ‎He urged the people of the state to vote overwhelmingly for APC candidates at all levels in 2027 and commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for mobilizing party members and fostering unity among stakeholders across the state.
‎ ‎Yilwatda also acknowledged the concerns of some communities that felt neglected by past administrations, noting that the appointment of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, had helped address longstanding grievances through massive infrastructure development across the South-East. ‎ ‎According to him, Umahi has transformed the narrative of the region with road and other critical projects being executed in different parts of the zone. ‎
‎Earlier, Governor Nwifuru expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for what he described as his administration’s commitment to the development of Ebonyi State and the South-East through various infrastructure projects. ‎ ‎The governor said the large turnout at the rally was evidence of the APC’s popularity in the state, insisting that Ebonyi people would deliver even more votes for President Tinubu in 2027 than they did in the 2023 election. ‎ ‎He cautioned against what he described as false claims by political opponents seeking to create the impression that they enjoyed the president’s backing, insisting that such efforts would fail. ‎ ‎Nwifuru further thanked President Tinubu for appointing Ebonyi indigenes into key national positions and reaffirmed the state's continuous support in the next general election. ‎ ‎
