Senator Nwebonyi Flags Off Amike Aba Road Project, Reaffirms Commitment To Quality Representation

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has flagged off the construction of the first phase of the Amike Aba Town Hall Road project, reaffirming his commitment to delivering quality and impactful constituency projects across the zone. ‎
‎Speaking during the flag-off ceremony yesterday, Senator Nwebonyi disclosed that the project, which spans two kilometres with the first phase covering one kilometre, was captured under the 2025 constituency intervention programme and designed to meet modern construction standards. ‎ ‎The lawmaker explained that the road would be constructed using concrete pavement due to the soil texture and topography of the area, noting that the choice of construction method was aimed at ensuring durability and long-term service to the people.
‎ ‎"We are going to construct a road that can last for 30 to 50 years," Senator Nwebonyi stated, emphasizing his administration's commitment to quality infrastructure development. ‎ ‎He noted that within his three years in office, he has executed several infrastructure projects across Ebonyi North, including over 10 kilometres of concrete pavement roads, more than 30 kilometres of earthworks, as well as numerous culverts and bridges. ‎ ‎According to the senator, his commitment to effective representation is inspired by the support and leadership style of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
‎ He recalled that upon assuming office in 2023, he pledged to set a new standard for legislative representation in Ebonyi North Senatorial District. ‎ ‎Senator Nwebonyi also commended Governor Nwifuru for what he described as unprecedented infrastructural development across Ebonyi State and expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for facilitating constituency projects through national budgetary interventions. ‎
‎Describing the Amike Aba Town Hall Road project as an economic empowerment initiative, the senator said the road would stimulate commercial activities and improve the socio-economic wellbeing of residents. ‎ ‎"I love doing this because by opening this road, I have renewed and revived the economy of this area," he said. ‎
‎In his remarks, the traditional ruler of Nkeleke Echara Autonomous Community, His Royal Highness, Eze Sunday Oketa,who spoke in Hausa dialect lauded Senator Nwebonyi's performance in office, describing him as a model representative whose achievements have brought pride to Ebonyi State. ‎
‎"Other senators should work like Nwebonyi. He has made Ebonyi proud. Please keep it on; we are behind you,". ‎ ‎Others who spoke including former Commissioner for Lands, Arc. Mbam Ogodo, the executive Chairman of Ebonyi Local Government Areas, Prince Chinedu Uburu, Contractor handling the road project,Engr. Mustapha, Village Head of Amike Aba village, among others commended the Senator pledging their support to his re-election ambition. ‎
‎Senator Nwebonyi also called on the people of Ebonyi State and the Southeast region to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing optimism that sustained support for the administration would attract more democratic dividends to the region.
