‎ ‎ ‎Akanu Ibiam Memorial Secondary School, Abakaliki, has secured third place in the ongoing Sam Okwaraji Secondary School Sports Championship after defeating Nnodo High School 5-4 on penalties in a keenly contested third-place playoff match.

‎ ‎The encounter, held on weekend at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki, saw both teams battle fiercely in a highly competitive fixture that ended in a stalemate during regulation time, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. ‎ ‎Akanu Ibiam Memorial Secondary School displayed composure and determination during the shootout, converting five penalties to edge out Nnodo High School, which scored four.
