Ebonyi Open To Foreign, Local Investments, Says Nwifuru

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has reaffirmed that the state is open to both foreign and local investors, describing Ebonyi as one of the safest destinations for investment in Nigeria. ‎

‎The governor made the declaration on Sunday at the Government House Chapel, Abakaliki, while briefing the congregation on the outcome of his nine-day official visit to China. ‎ ‎In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, Governor Nwifuru said the state delegation held productive engagements with government officials and prospective investors in China, adding that the visit yielded positive results for Ebonyi's economic development agenda. ‎ ‎According to him, the delegation was received by officials of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, where discussions focused on investment opportunities and strategic partnerships. ‎ ‎"The outcome of our visit to China was fruitful. By the grace of God, we were able to achieve a great deal. The government and investors we met expressed strong interest in partnering with us to develop Ebonyi State," the governor said. ‎ ‎He noted that the commitment shown by Chinese investors underscores growing international confidence in Ebonyi's investment potential, assuring that his administration would continue to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. ‎ ‎Governor Nwifuru attributed the achievements recorded by his administration over the past three years to divine grace, the support of the people, and the collaboration of critical stakeholders. ‎ ‎"We are not perfect, but we pray for more grace to continue working in the best interest of our state. It is the grace of God that has protected and guided us. Your prayers and practical support have contributed immensely to the tangible progress we have made," he stated. ‎ ‎The governor also commended the Apostolic Administrator of the Abakaliki Diocese, Bishop Ernest Obodo, for his leadership and commitment to fostering harmony between the Church and the government. ‎ ‎"I sincerely thank our dear Bishop. He is calm, peaceful, and a man after God's own heart. We appreciate his presence and support as we continue to work for the development of our state," Nwifuru said. ‎ ‎Addressing political speculations ahead of the 2027 elections, the governor urged residents to remain focused on governance and development, insisting that his administration remains committed to delivering on its mandate. ‎ ‎"The wheel of governance is running smoothly till 2031. Let us not worry unnecessarily; let us continue to trust in God," he added. ‎
