Foundation Awards Scholarships to 200 Ebonyi Indigent Students ‎

‎ ‎ ‎The Ugo Martins Foundation has awarded scholarships to 200 students in Ebonyi State as part of efforts to expand access to education and empower young people through academic support.

‎ ‎The scholarships were unveiled during the Foundation's seventh Boot Camp held yesterday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital brought together education stakeholders, business leaders, academics and students to discuss the role of education, leadership and innovation in national development.

‎ ‎Chairman of the occasion and Chief Executive Officer of Chuby-Zion Nigeria Limited, Mr. Chibuike Orogwu, urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity by remaining committed to their studies and striving for academic excellence.

‎ ‎Earlier, the founder Ugo Martins Foundation, Chief Ugo Martins Kel, reaffirmed his commitment to investing in education and youth development, saying the scholarship initiative is aimed at reducing financial barriers to learning and raising a new generation of leaders equipped to drive positive change in society.

‎ ‎The Ebonyi State Chairman, African Democratic Congress,ADC, Dr. Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor described the initiative as  remarkable and aimed at impacting young people who are leaders of tomorrow. ‎ ‎She appreciated the founder of the foundation and enjoined beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the state while ensuring that they replicate the gesture. ‎

‎In his keynote address titled "Empowering the Next Generation Through Education, Leadership and Innovation,"an educationist, Mr. Jeremiah Ugota urged the scholarship recipients to maximise the opportunity provided by the Foundation. ‎ ‎He said education remains a powerful tool for transforming lives and challenged the students to use the knowledge acquired to make meaningful contributions to society. ‎

‎President of the All Africa Students Union, Osisogu Enyinnaya, expressed concern over the growing number of out-of-school children across Africa. ‎ ‎He noted that millions of children remain without access to quality education and called for stronger collaboration among governments, private organisations and development partners to address the challenge. ‎

‎Also speaking, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences at PhiloMath University, Abuja, Prof. Chukwuma Ogbaga, stressed the importance of quality education in national development and encouraged the students to embrace innovation and lifelong learning. ‎

‎Founder of Western Coast Maritime Academy, Lagos, Oguyemi Azeez, called on young people to explore career opportunities in the maritime sector, noting that the industry offers immense prospects for employment and economic growth.

‎ ‎Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Nwokporo Chibuike expressed gratitude to the Ugo Martins Foundation for the scholarship award, describing it as a life-changing intervention. ‎ ‎He pledged that the beneficiaries would justify the confidence reposed in them through academic excellence and responsible conduct. ‎ ‎Meanwhile, the event featured a motivational presentation by popular comedian Klint De Drunk, and Dr. Jerry Amilo who entertained participants while encouraging the students to remain resilient in the pursuit of their dreams. ‎ ‎
