Ebonyi Council Chairman Dismisses Viral Video Claims On State Projects

‎ ‎ ‎The Chairman of Ebonyi Local Government Area, Barr. Chinedu Uburu, has described comments attributed to the Senator representing Ebonyi North, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, in a viral online video as a misrepresentation of facts concerning ongoing infrastructure projects in the council area. ‎ ‎Addressing newsmen today during an inspection of the Ogbogbo Ekebeligwe Bridge project, Uburu said the video created a false impression that the project was in a deplorable state, contrary to the reality on ground. ‎ ‎He commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for completing several road and bridge projects in the area, including the concrete and asphalting of the Oji-Nwogbaga–Alo-Randa–Attam–Egwudinagu Road, the 12-kilometre Nwiboko-Obodo Road initiated by the past administration, and major three and two span bridge projects at Oji-Nwogbaga Alo and Ogbogbo bridge two. ‎ ‎The council chairman maintained that all projects executed in Ebonyi Local Government met required engineering standards, describing Governor Nwifuru as a transparent and people-oriented leader committed to quality infrastructure and human capital development. ‎ ‎Uburu who described Ebonyi Local Government as one of the highest beneficiaries of the ongoing administration in the state urged the public not to be misled by viral social media content and called on political leaders to exercise restraint in their public comments in the interest of peace and development. ‎ ‎He dismissed the insinuation that there's division in the ruling party and expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress, APC would record a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections including the senatorial candidate, senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi who has performed creditably well. ‎ ‎He, however, cautioned against violence and divisive politics which according to him, contradict the believe and agenda of governor Nwifuru's led government.
