The Executive Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Barr. Sunday Nwankwo and other stakeholders of the Council have said the positive footprints of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru will guarantee overwhelming landslide victory for the All Progressives Congress, (APC) candidates in both the Local Government and General elections in the State.
Barr. Nwankwo and other stakeholders, including Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, Reps Chinedu Ogah and others noted that Governor Nwifuru has surpassed the expectations of the people of Ikwo through his remarkable strides in human capital development and the provision of critical infrastructure across the area.
The Council Chairman and the stakeholders expressed their feelings at the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Campaign Flag-off Rally held at NwaNoyo Stadium, Onuebonyi-Echara, Ikwo LGA.
They thanked the Governor and the people of Ikwo for endorsing the APC Chairmanship Candidate for IKwo LGA, Engr. Henry Nwode who they said has the capacity to step down people oriented projects and inclusive leadership at the Council.
In his remarks, Governor Nwifuru who was represented at the event by the Deputy, Her Excellency, Princess Patricia Onyemechi Obila, reaffirmed the commitment of his administration in expanding its people-oriented development agenda.
She noted that, having recorded remarkable achievements during its first term, the administration remains determined to accomplish even greater developmental milestones in its second term upon re-election.
Chairman of the event and former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi, called for political tolerance among people of the state, stressing that the track records of APC in the State will be reflected in the outcome of the forthcoming Local Government Council election and during the general election in 2027.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Odunwa; the Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Ogah; and His Excellency, Ambassador Frank Ogbuewu, who represented the State Campaign Council.
Other personalities who delivered goodwill messages included Prince Ogbonna Alo, the Ebonyi State APC Youth Leader; Comrade Uchenna Nwancho, the Ikwo LGA Youth Leader; and several other party leaders and stakeholders.
The highpoint of the event was the presentation of the APC victory flag to the party’s chairmanship candidate for Ikwo LGA, Hon. Chidi Nwode who on behalf of the vice chairmanship candidate, Chief Mrs. Chinelo Nwambe, as well as the party’s 20 councillorship candidates across the wards of Ikwo LGA promised to consolidate on the achievements of the current Council Boss and that he will not betray the confidence reposed in him by the people of Ikwo LGA.
