Ojiji 2026: Gov. Nwifuru Celebrates With Izhi People, Prays for Peace, Prosperity ‎

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has joined the Izhi people in celebrating the annual Ojiji (New Yam) Festival, describing the occasion as a symbol of unity, peace, prosperity, hard work, discipline and love. ‎

‎The governor, in a goodwill message to the people, extended warm felicitations to the Izhi community, while praying that the blessings associated with the festival would continue to foster peace and strengthen unity across Ebonyi State. ‎ ‎Nwifuru urged the people to use the occasion to celebrate their cultural heritage and promote values capable of advancing development and peaceful coexistence. ‎ ‎He said the Ojiji festival remained significant to the Izhi people, as it represents not only the harvest of the year's labour but also the spirit of togetherness, perseverance and communal progress. ‎ ‎The governor prayed that the fruits and blessings of the festival would continue to inspire hard work, discipline, love and prosperity among the people. ‎ ‎He further wished the Izhi people a peaceful and successful celebration, calling for the preservation of the cultural values that bind communities together. ‎ ‎“Happy celebrations,” the governor said, as he joined the Izhi people in marking the festival.
