Gov. Nwifuru Fires Works Commissioner

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has directed the immediate removal from office of the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam.

The directive was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, on Saturday. According to the statement, the former commissioner was directed to hand over all government property in his possession, including his official vehicle, to the Secretary to the State Government. The governor also directed that the responsibilities of the Ministry of Works be transferred to the Permanent Secretary pending further directives. Nwifuru assured residents of the state that his administration remains committed to effective governance and the continued improvement of public infrastructure across Ebonyi. The governor did not state the reason for the commissioner’s removal in the statement.
