Izzi Council Boss, Aduga, Emerges Ebonyi ALGON Chairman
The Executive Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Hon. Helen Uche Aduga, has emerged the new Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ebonyi State chapter.
Aduga emerged alongside other members of the newly constituted executive committee, comprising the Executive Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Mkpuma as Vice Chairman; the Ohaozara Local Government Area Chairman, Engr. Osbourn Umahi, Secretary; the Ikwo Council Chairman,Hon. Chidi Nwode, Treasurer; and Abakaliki counterpart, Hon. Chibueze Odigwe, as Publicity Secretary.
The new leadership is coming at a time the state government is intensifying efforts to strengthen grassroots governance and promote development across the 13 local government areas.
The association is expected to work in line with the administration's vision of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, particularly in promoting unity, effective governance and sustainable development at the grassroots in line with the People's Charter of Needs manifesto.
The emergence of Aduga and her team is expected to further enhance collaboration among the state's local government councils and strengthen their collective engagement on issues affecting grassroots administration.
