Police Arrest Content Creator Over Alleged False Claims Against Ebonyi CP ‎

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested a content creator, Mr. Justice Ozobi and his alleged accomplice over claims that the Commissioner of Police collected ₦700,000 each from six families to secure the release of their sons.
‎ ‎The Command, in a statement issued by its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, said it had earlier dismissed the allegations as false and misleading. ‎ ‎According to Ukandu, Ozobi allegedly used the photograph of a former Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State in his publication, exposing the retired senior officer to what the Command described as unwarranted ridicule and embarrassment. ‎
‎The suspect was arrested in Anambra State and subsequently transferred to the Ebonyi State Police Command, where he is currently assisting with investigations. ‎ ‎The Command said it respects citizens' rights to express opinions, raise genuine concerns and make constructive observations about policing, but warned against the deliberate spread of false, malicious or defamatory information. ‎ ‎It maintained that such information could damage the reputation of the Force, undermine the integrity of its officers and erode public confidence in the police. ‎ ‎The Command reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, professionalism and ethical conduct, urging members of the public to verify information before publication and channel genuine complaints through appropriate authorities for impartial investigation. ‎
