Teacher’s Day: Ebonyi Lawmaker, Nwoke Salutes Resilience
A member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly representing Abakaliki North Constituency, Hon. Victor Chidi Nwoke, has commended teachers across the state for their resilience, dedication and invaluable contributions to the development of society.
Nwoke, popularly known as Defender, described teachers as critical nation-builders whose sacrifices and commitment continue to shape the character, knowledge and future of younger generations.
The lawmaker made the commendation in a message marking the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, where he acknowledged the challenges confronting teachers and urged them to remain steadfast in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He stressed that teaching was not merely a profession but a noble service that plays a fundamental role in preparing young people to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
Nwoke said quality education remained a cornerstone of sustainable development, noting that meaningful progress in Ebonyi State and Nigeria could not be achieved without a strong and motivated teaching workforce.
He called for sustained investment in teachers’ welfare, professional development and capacity building, as well as the provision of conducive learning environments to enhance effective teaching and learning.
The lawmaker congratulated teachers across Ebonyi State on the occasion and urged government, parents, communities and other stakeholders to continue supporting them, saying a collective commitment to education would help build a more prosperous and sustainable future for the state.
