According to the traditional ruler of the community, HRH,Igwe Ogbonnaya Michael Ukwa, noted that on receiving the publication called emergency meeting inviting all his cabinets among village heads of the over fifty villages in the area which cut across all the villages affected by the clash, and presented the report before them in ensuring the validity of the report.
He said, on proper investigation and questioning discovered that the said family of late Mr. Augustine Ani Nwekuma, indigenes of Ugwu Odida,Onicha Igboeze in Onicha LGA,of the state last month visited Ndubia Igbeagu where they met with Mr. Nicodemus Ogbonna Eji on enquiry with a printed picture and details of their missing son directed that they are yet to reach the Ukelle area but gathered that the family later went to Ntrigom, a village in Ukelle community with the missing boy's biography.
Chief Ukwa noted that after their explanation learnt that the said Ogbonna was last seen held within the Ukelle axis and not Igbeagu area as alleged in the publication.
It reads" Ogbonna Peter Chukwu, For any information about his whereabout please call: 08036794572 or 07064823040
last seen been held hostage in Ukelle area,Yala LGA,Cross River state on Sunday 15/07/2018 on his way to Abakaliki from Boki in cross River,His is tall, slim and fair.He speaks Igbo,Boki and English languages".
The traditional Ruler who condemned the unholy act of taking people's lives by fellow being, called the affected family to keep on their search as it would be the worst thing to happen for fellow Ebonyians to engaged in such ill action against their own son.
He further debunked the part of the publication which has it that an unanimous victim who was arrested alongside the missing boy was released after monetary negotiations with their captors, challenging the source to proves his claim as doing so would not only help the family to find the missing Ogbonna but in curtailing the crisis which has put the entire community in perpetual hunger as they no longer go to farm for fear of being attack.
He called the general public to disregard the report as they support the peace talks as instituted by the executive deputy Governors' of the states,as recent visit of Minister of Interior would go in long way to establish the request for proper boundary demarcation between the two States.
It is recall that the said Ogbonna Chukwu aa fresh graduate of Ebonyi State university(EBSU) who resides in Cross River State was said to be coming to the school for clearance, completely unaware of conflict but was accosted at the crisis laden area where he was immediately disposed of his new brand motorcycle, phone and other valuables, whereas his whereabout is still in doubt as at the time of this report.
