Izzi Clan Celebrates New Yam Festival of Unity

--Honours Entire Umuekumenyi Sons

--Preaches Against Kindred Dichotomy

   It will ever remain historical event to all admirers of culture and tradition as Izzi project National President led by Com.Nwogha Godwin and other Umuekumenyi son's matched in their thousands to Izzi ancestral home of Amnegu,in Abakaliki LGA on Saturday, 25th August, 2018 in celebration of their new yam festival.
Shortly after the visit,the representative of Ezza clan,Hon.Chief Tobias Okwuru,House of representative member, Ezza North constituency thanked the people for honouring the eldest son of Umuekumenyi through the festival which he said it was its kind as the celebration attracted many youths of the extraction,noting that the essence of new yam festival was to preserve cultural heritage and foster unity among the people.
  He called the entire Umuekumenyi sons  to emulate the gesture by extending their hands of fellowship through coming together as that would help in a long way to promote unity and fill the gap of brotherhood among them.
  Chief Daniel Oguji,a representative of Ikwo Noyo clan while receiving the gift of yam acknowledged that most culture of the land have been abandoned because of rise in civilization which has paved way for the present generation borrowing most alien culture that are bringing disunity among their people,thanking entire Izzi  Nnodo clan for their invitation and the use of the annual ritual of new yam in promoting unity in the state.
   Also,Hon.Nwannebuike Ominyi,Former Special Assistant to the governor, and a representative of Izhia clan described the event as great day in the entire clan,stating that the one of the significants of the celebration was the bringing together people of same lineage,maintaining that it would be a thing of challenge to use the festival to reunite Umuekumenyi that had once divided.
He,however,condemned the attitude of kindred dichotomy which he said had done a lot of harm than good in the land,calling the people to keep supporting Umuekumenyi as a way of promoting unity.
  In his part,Com.Nwogha, appreciated the people for joining them in the celebration, stating that the visit to the traditional prime minister, was to show gratitude to the custodians of the land for their prayers and advice for the common good of Izzi Land.
