Legal Practitioner Blames Silence on Rural Underdevelopment in Ebonyi

By Nwogha Ndubuisi Andy

A legal practitioner, Barrister Moses Oluchukwu Ugbo,on weekend during a meeting held at PPN State Secretariat, along Enugu-Abakaliki expressway blamed silence on part of constituents as a reason behind most elected office holders negligence to their responsibilities, thereby, abandoned most projects made for the rural people and converting the money for personal use.
Barr.Ugbo, who is contesting as a Member
State House of Assembly, representing Ishielu South Constituency under People's Party of Nigeria frowned on high level of under development suffered in most communities in the state especially in Ishielu, whereas their representatives are cruising on expensive fleet of cars in the city.
He hinted that most communities are on gory nightmare with no sign of government, describing the experience as appalling and a call to advocate for the right candidates in upcoming general election.
The Clergy said his interest in contesting the post of honourable member came as a result of a wish to correct all the wrongs by leaders of the area, where he said divides projects made for them among families.
In his word"Those we entrust our collective resources have failed us,but the only reason while the oppressors have had their way overtime is because the oppressed had kept quiet, silence becomes the weapon of the oppressed,so,it is high time we correct all their wrongs by speaking out using our permanent voters card to send them packing.
Barr.Ugbo cautioned Ebonyians to be wise as most politicians would soon come out with manifestos with well drafted problems but revealed that the elicited problems were not enough to accepting them as most politicians lacked blueprint to solving the problems, stating that politicians always woo the people with well articulated manifesto without feasibility to achieving their projects.
"Knowing the people's problem is not enough to vote any politician but having the blueprint on how to solve it and seeing that the person has a remarkable antecedent.
" why most government failed is because they know the problem but without action or policy to solving the problem.
He advised the people of the state and his area in particular to elect their leaders based on the trust embedded on the individual and not on basis of popularity of a party.
