2023: APC Chieftain Advocates For Northeast Presidential Candidate

By Alo David Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress and a founding member of the party in Abia state Engr Chiemezuo Emmanuel Nwokedi has advised the Apc National Working Committee to pick its presidential candidate from the Northeast to avoid a heavy loss at the polls.
Nwokedi gave the advise while addressing newsmen on weekend in Umuahia, Abia State capital. According to Engr Nwokedi,he hinted that leaving Atiku to mop up block votes from the entire northern region considering the homogenity of the North in power play is too risky.
"The battle must be taken to Atiku in the Northeast, thereby, retaining the support of the traditional states of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the region while at the same time help in galvanizing a solid support from the Northwest which has been a backbone of the party. "Traditionally, South East and South-South are always inclined to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party and as such, no presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress from the South can win in more than one region in the South. In what he termed Mezuo's formula, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be prevailed upon to be a running mate to a candidate from the Northeast so as to lock down the Southwest for the Apc via a Muslim-Muslim ticket. He added,"We must take note of statistics of the 2019 presidential elections into consideration and the reality of the introduction of electronic transmission of results for proper guidance. We must rise above premodial sentiments and put the party on the right track as everyone including the current NWC will loose out if Apc fails at the polls.
