Speaking, the Chairman of the occasion and one of the family members, Boniface Ezaegu described marriage as a sacred union from God. He called on the newly wedded couples to depend on God, even as they make tolerance their watchword knowing that they are two people from different family background that were joined together by God, hence, enjoined them to always beckon on Him at all times.
Also, Professor Adaeze Nwuzor, Co-founder, Ben-Laz Christian Family, explained that the group was founded in the year 2006 by late Justice Lazarus Nwuzor, and since initiated the programme which annually has contributed to supporting new couples into the sacrament of matrimony. "This is the 17th year when my husband initiated the idea of having Ben-Laz Christian Family, every Easter Monday. "It has been a sacrifice that we support the Sacrament of Matrimony every Easter Monday and today we have about ten, we supported them through their registration and certificate. "We have always come together among those who we sponsored their marriage, baptism and confirmation, eat together and ask God to continue to protect Ben-Laz Family and we'll continue to do that until Christ will come.
She further emphasized, "I call on the newly wedded couples to know that love is the greatest thing on earth; we should see love as the bedrock of every successful marriage and everything we do. They should let love lead knowing that another name for God is love. "Love, and let love and love one another."
Earlier, the Catholic priest, St Lazarus Parish, Rev Fr Emmanuel Osi called on the couples to embrace each other through understanding. The Priest tasked the couples to be submissive and supportive to their husbands, adding that the role of a wife is crucial to the success of their homes.
He called on wives to live within the family means and enumerated that no home succeeds by expensive fake lifestyle. He, however appealed to men to have listening ear, hence, charged them to always be patience, prayerful, tolerance and stay away from second wife syndrome.
In his goodwill message, one of the wedded couples, Mr and Mrs Chibueze Nwuzor appreciated the Christian family for their support and encouragement and prayed God to reward them abundantly. Meanwhile, the event witnessed the exchange of marital vow by about ten couples, merriment and gift distribution by Professor Nwuzor.
