Nwifuru flags off distribution of fertilizer in Ebonyi community

Ebonyi state governor, Francis Nwifuru has distributed fertilizer to over three hundred rice farmers at Ebyia Development Center in Izzi Local Government Area of the state. The governor performed the flag off at Nwofe, the headquarters of Ebyia Development Center on Tuesday.
Nwifuru who was represented at the function by his aide, Mr Uchenna Nwamkpuma applauded coordinator of Ebyia Development Center for the great initiative adding that the gesture would boost harvest as well encourage food security in the country. The aide, Nwamkpuma who commended the coordinator for the provision of the farm input enjoined stakeholders especially appointees to buy more and support the rural farmers.
"We appreciate the state governor for the opportunities he introduced to the people in agricultural sector which is among the training of one hundred Ebonyians in agriculture value chain which is currently ongoing at Enugu state. "And also thank him for programmes going on in the office of the Commissioner, FADAMA, IFAD, NG-CARES and recent, the flag off of the empowerment programme of community development under agricultural and social development programme and it's a good thing even when much are coming on as the full implementation of the budget continue until the end of the year. "I appreciate the Coordinator of Ebyia Development Center who today bought hundreds of bags of fertilizer to distribute to our people and wish to say that those of us who have government position should not look at the bags of fertilizer that we were not given but rather buy more and support our rural farmers as that's the only way to complement what His Excellency is doing.
The Development Center Coordinator, Mr Stephen Nwofoke, who said that beneficiaries farmers were selected from villages where they were confirmed to be true farmers added that the decision was taken to cushion the financial challenges faced by farmers in trying to buy the input. The Coordinator who promised to carry out another phase of the distribution enjoined the people to continue supporting Nwifuru led government as all his policies and programmes are geared through uplifting the people for greater future.
On his part, a stakeholder, Mr Jeremiah Ikporo appreciated the coordinator for stepping down the state governor's good governance to the grassroot promising to continue giving his support for the good of the area.
