Hunger protest: Ex-Ebonyi Senatorial candidate, Egwu sues for peace

A frontline contender in the 2023 general election, Evangelist Reuben Uche Egwu has appealed to Nigerian youths to reconsider their stance on the raging #endbadgovernment# protest in the country.
Evangelist Egwu, an ex- Senatorial Candidate of Action Alliance made the appeal Tuesday during an interactive session with newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital. Egwu argued that granted there is hunger in the land, government must immediately take necessary action to assuage the pained which led to the protest. Egwu said "As a former Senatorial candidate, I have always stood with those who are struggling. "However, I am compelled to urge an end to the nationwide hunger protest. While I understand the desperation that drove this action, I fear for the health and well-being of those involved. "Hunger affects us all, and I have seen its devastating impact firsthand. But I believe there are more effective ways to bring about change". To get the country working again, Egwu told President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to increase funding for sustainable food program inline with global food security drive. "I call on our government to increase funding for sustainable food programs support small farmers and local agriculture, address the root causes of poverty and inequality". The Action Alliance Ebonyi South Senatorial Candidate expressed optimism that the country can work again for the measures he proffered are implemented by President Tinubu-led Federal Government. "Let's work together to build a future where every citizen has access to nutritious food and a dignified life. "I offer my support and expertise to make this vision a reality. "Please, let's end this hunger protest and start a new chapter of collaboration and collective action".
