Nwifuru's Aide To Media Practitioners: Be Active Promoters of Ebonyi Govt Programs

The Special Assistant to Ebonyi state Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Sir Sunday Nwambam, has advised journalists to be active players in promoting healthy policies and programs of the government in power.
He gave the advice in a statement signed by the Association's Publicity Secretary,Victor Nwegede, when the Aide played host to the members of the Association of Izzi Media Workers on Thursday at the Cabinet Office, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital. Nwambam, the Emeritus President of the Association, expressed gratitude over his appointment by Governor Nwifuru, commending his principal for his endless investment in Ebonyi people, especially the youths, through empowerment and other capacity-building programs.
He commended Nwifuru for embarking on many life-touching projects, saying the governor has exemplified all-inclusive governance in the appointive positions, human empowerment and infrastructural development in the state. "If you go around the state, you will see an avalanche of quality infrastructure projects ongoing; some of them have been completed. "The Governor, Rt Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has done marvellously well by showing capacity in every sector, especially in health, education, water, agriculture and the general welfare of the Ebonyi people.
"This is the first in history when the governor united the Ebonyi people, especially their leaders and elders. Governor Nwifuru is a great leader, championing many life-touching projects cutting across the 13 local government areas of the state. "Our collective project as media practitioners should be a project promoting Governor Francis Nwifuru-led administration; I will continue saying that the governor is underreported by the media. "But I can't blame media agencies, please let's continue to promote our own whether at the Senate, House of Representatives, State House of Assembly and any other positions. "I will not disappoint my constituency (media), but let's prioritize the promotion of Ebonyi governor projects, and very soon, my office will unveil a program called Project Watch," Nwambam said.
Earlier, the National President of the Association, Comrade Emmanuel Nwizi, congratulated Nwambam for his appointment and described his current position as a starting point. Nwizi described his predecessor as a man of integrity, assuring him that Izzi Media Workers would focus on the good agenda of the governor while in power.
"We wouldn't like to be anti-government media practitioners but only want the government actors to be carrying us along in their activities," the President hinted. The Vice President of the Association, Comrade Innocent Nwuzor, urged Nwambam to continue to perform creditably well in his office, believing that the step would encourage the governor to consider more appointments for seasoned media practitioners in the state.
