Scrap dealers debarred 3 members in Ebonyi
In ensuring sanity and bringing vandalization to the bearest minimum,three members of the Scrap Dealers Association have been expelled from the union in Ebonyi state.
This is according to the state chairman of the Association, Nwigwe Eric Ejike who explained that the three members were expelled following their involvement on allegation of buying stolen items. The Association, thereby, bound them from operating in the state.
Nwigwe explained that the union has profiled its members including the scavengers by ensuring that they are all registered inorder to ensure that none members do not infiltrate the business to cause disaffection between them and Ebonyi communities where they operate.
He appreciated governor Francis Nwifuru's led administration for his financial support to Small and Medium Enterprises in the state saying that scrap dealers have helped in promoting environmental cleanliness while serving as job opportunity to most citizens of the state.
He called on investors to take advantage of the friendly policies of the ongoing administration in the state to invest in the scrap business stating that the state currently boost of best good roads network in the south East with high level of security, low cost of labour, among others.
Speaking with some of the dealers, Mr Farouk Muhammad, and Isah Ahmed described scrap as a good business saying that the scavengers helped making environment clean by picking carton, cans and drinking water bottles.
He applauded the union leaders for their leadership prowess and called on the public not to see scavengers as lawless people as the union are regulated to ensure that members do not buy stolen items .
