Easter: Imbibe lesson of prayers, patience, armsgiving which are hallmarks of this celebration~Nwebonyi

The senator representing Ebonyi North district, Onyekachi Nwebonyi has charged his constituents and christians all over the universe to imbibe the lesson of prayers, fasting, patience and armsgiving which are hallmarks of Easter celebration.

Senator Nwebonyi gave the charge in a goodwill message made available to Journalists where he felicitated with the christian faithfuls in the event of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. "I wish to extend my warmest felicitations to the Christian faithful all over the world and my constituents as we celebrate the memorial of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. "I congratulate Christians for religiously observing the Lenten season spanning 40 days and culminating to the Easter Sunday which marks the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It's indeed a spiritual rebirth, revival and restoration of our Christian faith. "Let me therefore, admonish my Christian brothers and sisters to imbibe the lessons of prayers, fasting, penitence and almsgiving which are the hallmarks of this celebration. We must extend the hands of fellowship and share with others irrespective of their religious, political or tribal inclinations. It’s time to unite together as one indivisible entity bound in love and shared aspirations."Senator Nwebonyi added. The Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Nwebonyi urged all christians to utilize the period to pray for the unity of the country. "I urge you to utilize this holy period to pray for the unity and progress of Nigeria and for personal introspection, repentance from sins and rejuvenation of your faith in Christ Jesus. "While acknowledging the difficult economic situation in the country, I humbly appeal to all Christians to pray fervently for the nation and to uphold the virtues of hard-work, honesty and mutual coexistence in line with the teachings and exemplary life of Jesus Christ. You must eschew all forms of violence, killings, criminalities and divisiveness which are against the doctrines of the church." It would recall that the senator representing Ebonyi North district, Nwebonyi had in the spirit of Easter celebration empowered not less than 1,200 constituents who are motorists in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital on Tuesday with ten litres of Premium Motor Spirit otherwise known as fuel.
