Ebonyi: NYCN Applauds Tinubu for Youth-Inclusive Governance, Reiterates Support

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ebonyi State Chapter, has unanimously commended the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued commitment to youth-inclusive governance.
The commendation was made by the Chairman of the NYCN in Ebonyi State, Comrade Douglas Ochishi, during a media briefing at his office in Abakaliki. The event followed a courtesy visit by the Afikpo Chapter of the Council, led by Comrade Ebeke Onyenaucheya. According to Comr. Ebeke, the purpose of the visit was to assess the state’s preparedness for the upcoming 2025 National Youth Confab, as well as to get updates on other ongoing Council programs.
In his response, Comr. Ochishi addressed all concerns raised, appreciated the delegation for their solidarity, and assured them of his unwavering support. Comr. Ochishi further stated that President Tinubu has demonstrated a commendable commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises, particularly in championing the long-anticipated National Youth Confab. He noted that this promise came in the wake of the nationwide youth-led protest on August 1, 2024, against hunger and socio-economic hardship. In a related development, the Council reaffirmed its vote of confidence in the Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru for his remarkable strides in infrastructure and youth-centered development. The Council noted that the Governor’s adherence to the People’s Charter of Needs continues to positively impact the lives of young people across the state. The Council also commended the efforts of the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Richard Idike, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to peace and unity among youth organizations in Ebonyi State—an achievement they say deserves emulation across the nation. The Council expressed optimism that the current synergy between government and youth stakeholders will ensure the success of the 2025 National Youth Confab and help shape a better future for Nigeria.
