Support Group, CIL for FON Commends Izzi Council Boss on Voters’ Sensitization
A political support group under the banner, Chief Ibaki Likemind for FON, led by Engr. Chief Jonas Ibaki, has applauded stakeholders and the Executive Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area, Barr. Stephen Emenike Nwankpa, for their concerted efforts in promoting voter awareness and sensitization across the council area.
Chief Ibaki, who gave the commendation at his Onunwakpu village of Ipfuigwe Autonomous Community during the monthly meeting of Chief Ibaki Like-minded for FON members, said the initiative is crucial to strengthening participatory democracy and ensuring that citizens are adequately prepared to exercise their civic responsibilities.
He noted that voter registration remains the foundation of credible elections and urged the people of Izzi to take the exercise seriously by making it a personal project.
According to him, mobilization efforts at the grassroots are yielding positive results, as more eligible voters are now showing interest in obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He emphasized that such proactive engagement would help increase voter turnout in future elections, thereby consolidating the democratic gains of the state.
Chief Ibaki further stated that the best way to reciprocate the developmental strides of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, especially within the Izhi clan, is through active political participation. He urged residents to obtain their PVCs, describing it as the most effective tool for sustaining good governance and supporting leaders who prioritize the welfare of their people.
While expressing confidence in the leadership of Barr. Nwankpa, he called on traditional rulers, community leaders, village heads, and youth organizations to intensify grassroots mobilization to ensure that no eligible voter is left behind.
He concluded by stressing that voter registration is not merely an official duty but a civic obligation that guarantees the future of Ebonyi State and strengthens the collective voice of its people.
