The Ebonyi State Government, through the Ministry of Works, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, commenced a four-day intensive training programme for newly recruited engineers and other junior staff of the ministry.
The State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Lebechi Mbam, disclosed this in a statement on his official social media handle, noting that the capacity-building exercise was designed to enhance professionalism and align with the People’s Charter of Needs policy of the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. According to Engr. Mbam, the recruitment and training exercise were made possible through the magnanimous approval of Governor Nwifuru, who is committed to empowering the youth and strengthening the state’s engineering workforce for effective service delivery.
“This training has become necessary to actualize the vision of the People’s Charter of Needs, especially in the area of civil engineering and modern infrastructural development,” he stated. He explained that the initiative aims at equipping the newly recruited workers with the requisite technical and ethical knowledge to deliver on the state’s infrastructural projects and contribute meaningfully to the government’s developmental agenda.
Engr. Mbam reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to promoting competence, innovation, and accountability in service, adding that “it can only get better” under the current administration.
