Breaking: South East Leaders Close Ranks, Declare Support For Tinubu’s Re-election

South East political leaders under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, endorsing him for a second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement was made at an expanded APC South East stakeholders’ meeting held in Enugu, where party leaders from across the region met to review the performance of the Tinubu administration and outline a new political direction for the zone. Speaking at the meeting, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, described President Tinubu as a symbol of hope, freedom and liberation for the South East. He said the region was already benefiting from increased federal attention under the present administration.
Governor Nwifuru noted that Ebonyi State is currently witnessing more than two hundred and fifty kilometres of federal road projects running simultaneously, a development he said was unprecedented in the history of the state. He added that the Tinubu administration has brought massive federal infrastructure to the South East, stressing that such level of development had not been experienced in the past. Also speaking, the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, said the South East must embrace political partnership in order to achieve sustainable development. He stated that no region can develop in isolation, noting that President Tinubu is laying the foundation for industrial growth in the South East. On his part, the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, urged all APC leaders and stakeholders in the region to close ranks and work together to secure President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. Other speakers, including the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Benjamin Kalu, also called on the people of the South East to support President Tinubu, saying a united front would bring accelerated development and stronger political relevance to the region.
