CEHRA Felicitates New CDHR Leadership, Calls For Unity

The Centre for Economic and Human Rights Advancement (CEHRA) Humanity Project has congratulated the newly elected leadership of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), following the organization’s Annual General Conference (AGC).
The AGC, which produced the new executive, was held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Maridom Palace Hotel. In a statement signed by Comrade Idowu Joseph, National General Secretary of CEHRA Humanity Project, and made available to newsmen, the organisation congratulated the new CDHR leadership led by Comrade Debo Adeniran as President. While extending its goodwill, CEHRA urged the new executive to prioritise the re-integration of all existing factions within the CDHR, stressing that unity is essential for the effectiveness and credibility of the organisation. According to the statement, there is no justification for the continued division within the CDHR, adding that a united front would strengthen the collective struggle for justice, equity and the protection of human rights in the country. CEHRA further expressed its readiness to collaborate with the CDHR under the new leadership in advancing the common goal of emancipating the oppressed and promoting human rights. The statement reaffirmed CEHRA’s commitment to solidarity within the human rights community, describing unity as a key pillar in sustaining the struggle for social justice. “Solidarity forever,” the statement concluded.
