NYCN Chairman Rallies Support For Nwifuru’s 2027 Re-election, Empowers Widows In Ebonyi Community

The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ebonyi State Chapter, Comrade Douglas Ochishi, has urged youths and residents of Enyim Agbaja Autonomous Community to support the re-election of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in the 2027 general elections.
Ochishi made the call during a New Year outreach in the community, saying the governor has met key development benchmarks in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the area of good governance, and therefore deserves continued public support. The NYCN chairman, who expressed satisfaction with the developmental strides recorded under the state government’s People’s Charter of Needs, distributed wrappers to over 50 widows, food items including bags of rice, seasoning and salt, as well as ₦1 million in cash as Christmas and New Year largesse. He also urged residents of the community to remain steadfast in faith in 2026, noting that God remains the ultimate sustainer of all.
In his remarks, the traditional ruler of Enyim Agbaja Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Jonathan Ofim, commended Governor Nwifuru for his leadership style and commitment to development, while also praising Ochishi for his humility, respect for elders and philanthropic activities. Eze Ofim said the activities of the NYCN leadership in the state have contributed meaningfully to peace and development, and called for increased government support for the council’s programmes.
Other speakers at the event included the Executive Chairman of the Late Chief Linus Ugo Edeh Memorial Timbershed, Chief Israel Ochishi; the Chief Security Officer of NYCN, Comrade Ogodo Chineme; and the Director of Legal Services, NYCN Ebonyi State Bar, Barrister Obinna Ofim. They commended the NYCN chairman for the gesture, which was described as the first of its kind in Onuenyim Agbaja Village. Ochishi said the outreach formed part of his commitment to the People’s Charter of Needs of Governor Nwifuru, whom he described as capable of taking Ebonyi State to greater heights. He dedicated the New Year largesse to the good governance of the governor.
