Supporters Club Hails ‘New Life’ In Abakaliki FC As Coach Star Plus Anistar Earns Early Praise

The Chairman of Abakaliki FC Supporters Club, Prince Maurice Mbam, has commended the impressive impact of the club’s new Head Coach, Star Plus Izuikem Anistar, describing his performance as outstanding and transformative for the team.

Speaking on the team’s recent progress, Prince Mbam said the new coach has injected fresh energy into Abakaliki FC and revived football activities in Ebonyi State. According to him, the technical approach and active engagement of the coach on the training ground have significantly improved players’ performance and overall team coordination.

“The assessment of the new Head Coach is wonderful. He has brought new life into the team and football activities in Ebonyi State,” Prince Mbam said. “If you go to the field now, you will see the coach selecting and correcting players the right way, and that is why we are now getting the best in all our outings.” He described the appointment as one of the best decisions taken by the club’s management, adding that supporters are comfortable and optimistic about the team’s future under the new leadership.

On expectations from fans, Prince Mbam expressed confidence that the players would maintain high performance levels, stating that supporters are hopeful the team will finish among the top four before the end of the season and secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier League. Star Plus Izuikem Anistar was recently appointed following the indefinite suspension of former Head Coach, Mr. Ifeanyi Onyedika, after a home draw in the team’s second match of 2025/26 season.

Anistar, who previously served as Assistant Coach, was initially named Acting Head Coach before his position was later confirmed by the state governor during the Christmas and New Year homage.
