‎The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District, Pastor Ronald Okechukwu Okorie, has commended Senator Professor Anthony Okorie Ani for enhancing security of lives and property across the zone through the installation of solar-powered streetlights. ‎ ‎Okorie, who spoke to journalists in Abakaliki, said the ongoing installation of solar lights in several communities has begun to improve safety, night-time movement, and economic activities in the area. ‎ ‎He noted that roads and public spaces including Ohaoffia/Amaoso Road in Edda Local Government Area, Isu Onicha, Nweke Akanu Onicha, and other parts of the district have already benefited from the project. ‎ ‎According to him, the illumination provided by the solar lights has increased visibility at night, thereby reducing crime and making the environment safer for residents, pedestrians, and motorists. ‎ ‎“This constituency project involving solar streetlights has fostered community pride and increased security for both pedestrians and motorists. All hands must be on deck to protect these facilities from vandalism,” Okorie said. ‎ ‎He added that the project is part of Senator Ani’s commitment to improving the quality of life in rural communities by providing lighting in public places and making roads safer for night travel. ‎ ‎Okorie further explained that the installation has also helped to reduce road accidents in some of the affected areas, while assuring that more communities would benefit from the project in the coming months. ‎ ‎He appealed to residents in locations yet to be covered to remain calm, stressing that the lawmaker is working to ensure that all component communities in the senatorial district are included. ‎ ‎The Special Adviser listed other areas where the solar lights have been installed to include Eke Agbaebor Market Square in Isu, as well as Ezima and Ufuakpu playgrounds in Isu community. ‎ ‎He commended the constituents for their continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the People’s Charter of Needs of Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru. ‎ ‎Okorie also called on community leaders and youths to take responsibility for safeguarding the solar installations against vandalism and reckless damage, noting that the facilities belong to the people and are meant to serve the entire district. ‎
