7-Day Ultimatum: Ebonyi Govt Demands Return of Assets from Sacked Aide

The Ebonyi State Government has issued a seven-day ultimatum to a former Special Assistant to Governor Francis Nwifuru on Security (Airport), Nnanna Nwangene, to return all government properties in his possession or face legal action.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Internal Security, Etta Uka-Ude, the government said the directive follows the termination of the aide’s appointment by Governor Francis Nwifuru. The statement listed the items yet to be returned as a 20-foot container loaded with air conditioners, a motorcycle attached to the office, and a caterpillar equipment previously under his supervision.
Uka-Ude directed Mr. Nwangene to return all listed government assets either personally or through a representative to the Office of the Commissioner for Internal Security within seven days of receiving the notice. The government warned that failure to comply within the stipulated period will compel it to initiate legal and administrative measures to recover the assets and safeguard public property. Recall that the former aide was recently relieved of his duties and reportedly barred from accessing government premises over alleged internal indiscipline while in office.
